1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Sports Hardtop Build Date 2003
This is a reissued version of the original AMT kit from 1963.
This is a box stock buildup.
It was released mid-year, and used the 1963 1/2 designation. The "1/2" designation would be used the following year when the first 1964 1/2 Mustangs rolled off the assembly line.
Ford called it the Sports Hardtop, but was more commonly called the "scatback"; it was produced to improve aerodynamics of the vehicle on the NASCAR circuit.
